Multi-Million Charity Fraud Acquittal

Mark Tomassi, instructed by Dante Leccacorvi of Whitelock & Storr Solicitors, has secured the acquittal of a defendant charged with a  multi-million pound charity fraud.

Following a full trial lasting 11 weeks, the client, who had  faced numerous charges of defrauding the charity commissioners  and  the laundering the proceeds of crime  through the sale of illegal on-line pharmaceuticals , including  Viagra, was unanimously acquitted by a jury at Southwark Crown Court. His father was convicted.

Mark represented the defendant as a leading junior, Mr Leccacorvi acted as his junior.

The trial followed a six year investigation. The case involved a complex chain of companies registered at Companies House as well as a multitude of Charitable foundations, whose role was  allegedly to launder over £10 Million  by the illicit sale of dietary supplement and sexual performance enhancing drugs.
