Leila Gaskin represents law student in relation to £750,000 fraud

Leila Gaskin, instructed by Natalie Pettifer of Goldman Bailey Solicitors, represented a law student who pleaded guilty to fraud at Inner London Crown Court.

Faith Whitter worked for Metro bank whilst completing her law degree. Miss Whitter had been coerced in August and September 2016 to change the details of a bank account whereon a SIM swap allowed the other perpetrators to siphon out the funds. The fraud was valued at £750,000.

Leila obtained a suspended sentence, eighteen months imprisonment suspended for two years, for Miss Whitter. As part of the suspended sentence Miss Whitter will have to complete 200 hours of community service, pay £640 in court costs and fees, and observe a 7pm to 5am curfew for the next two months.
