Imitation Firearm - Acquittal

Clea Topolski, briefed by Lee Barton of Paul Martin & Co. secured an acquittal in a trial of possession of an imitation firearm with intent.

The jury had to resolve what was essentially a neighbours dispute. It was alleged a gun was brandished, cocked and pointed  at a 15 year old girl in close proximity along with threats to kill. She also alleged a knife was waved at her in the fracas.

The defendant was adamant that he took no such action and that in fact it was the 15 year old school girl that threatened him with unlawful violence. The jury acquitted him unanimously within 15 minutes.
