Darren Snow recently delivered advocacy training to the Royal College of Nursing’s Head Office Legal team in London. The workshop focused upon interim order hearings using real life cases focused upon sexual offence allegations where there is an overlap between criminal proceedings and regulatory proceedings. Different approaches were explored during the workshop with participants playing the part of the regulator’s case presenters and RCN advocates. Areas covered included demonstrating effective risk management, framing interim conditions of practice, making submissions on evidence and tackling public protection and public interest submissions by regulators seeking interim suspension orders.
Reflecting Charter Chambers growing reputation in professional disciplinary work for the medical professions our members are now regularly involved in training with regulators and defence organisations.
