Practice Profile
Defence and prosecution work in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.
Instructed across a broad range of criminal offences.
Frequently instructed to defend in cases involving sexual offences from rape to possession etc. of indecent images; violent offences; and frauds of varying degrees and seriousness.
Particular experience in questioning young witnesses; disclosure and mental health law.
Cases
Instructed as junior counsel in a number of recent high profile prosecutions including R v. Baybasin & 11 others (2006) the first successful prosecution brought by the Serious Organised Crime Agency concerning a conspiracy to blackmail the Turkish community in North London (extortion/ racketeering). R v. Jones & others (2006) a prosecution brought by the Directorate of Professional Standards (MPS Anti-corruption Command) that concerned the successful prosecution of a serving police officer who had been supplying intelligence to the criminal fraternity in and around London.
