Primarily a criminal practitioner but also instructed regularly in matters of police discipline, prison and military law.
Defended in trials covering the whole spectrum of criminal work, including: murder, serious fraud, money laundering, drug trafficking, rape, section 18 and child cruelty.
Currently involved in cases (as junior counsel) involving -
Male charged with the murder and attempted murder of a mother and her baby by strangulation; multi-handed conspiracy to defraud, relating to the failed ILA education scheme and VAT fraud, involving duty in excess of £2 million said to have been evaded.
And alone -
Eight-handed conspiracy to kidnap, blackmail and cause grievous bodily harm(allegation of gang related violence during which the complainant was said to have been tortured with guns, blow torches, electrodes and pliers); historic allegation of male rape.
 

Cases

R v Oliver –junior counsel - attempted murder following an aborted letter-box burglary. Case was dependant on the disputed lip-reading evidence of Jessica Reece relating to a prison visit between defendants.
R v McDonald – junior counsel - allegation of fraudulent trading by a company director, successfully argued abuse of process as a result of inordinate delay on the part of the police.
R v B – junior counsel - multi-handed credit card cloning fraud, involving a participating police informant.
R v Rowe – junior counsel – large scale prostitution ring involving police corruption, blackmail, false imprisonment, offences of serious violence and the supply of drugs. The assessed benefit was in excess of £1 million and the Crown were reliant on super-grass evidence.
R v B – defendant acquitted of kidnap, false imprisonment and the force feeding of class A drugs to a 15 year old girl.
R v E – 12 year old boy acquitted of the rape of a 7 year old girl. The defendant had complex physical and mental health problems.
R v R – successfully defended an university student accused of raping a fellow student.
R v A – successfully represented a defendant facing a mandatory life sentence for car jacking with a firearm.
