FRAUD
R v O’Connor and others: £10,000,000 Inland Revenue Construction Industry Fraud.
R v Hu and others: $1.8 billion US Treasury Bond fraud.
R v Stanford and others: $800 million US Treasury Bond fraud.
R v Muggleton and others: £90 million alcohol diversion fraud.
R v Barford and others: £120 million alcohol diversion fraud. Case exposed corruption at London City Bond.
R v Stanton: IFA accused of £1,000,000 fraud mis-selling pensions to institutions and high profile City figures.
R v Ezechie and others: Banking fraud and international money laundering conspiracy.
HOMICIDE
R v Pitkin and another: Contract killing of ex-Brinks-Mat defendant.
R v Maninder Singh and others: Murder of restaurant owner.
R v Kimber: Domestic Murder.
R v Goodbrand: Murder of cab driver.
R v Steele: Murder of employer.
R v Thilkestharan: Murder and mutilation.
R v Negrotti and others: Murder by group of Hell’s Angels. Case arose after protracted campaign by BBC TV programme Rough Justice to free a previously convicted defendant. A book was written about the case.
R v Prince and others: Murder of student in London park.
R v Manuelyan and another: Manslaughter of child by parents by means of fruitarian diet imposed on child.
DRUGS
R v Simms and others: £60,000,000 conspiracy to manufacture amphetamine sulphate.
R v Grassi and others: Multi-million pound conspiracy to manufacture amphetamine sulphate.
R v White and others: Importation of cocaine. Also largest crack factory discovered in the UK.
R v Tyrrell and others (initially led junior but took over the case): £190 million importation of cocaine. Case involved allegations of political corruption in Antigua.
R v Du Fosse and others: £19 million importation of heroin.
R v Edgar (led junior): Plot to manufacture £169 million of Ecstasy. Purportedly the largest Ecstasy factory in Europe.
ARMED ROBBERY
R v Black and others: Murder and armed robberies throughout Bedfordshire.
R v Healey and others: A team of ex-foreign legionnaires had entered a bank over a bank holiday weekend and established a hiding place under the stairs in an attempt to take £3,000,000 from the vault. The case involved allegations in relation to the takeover of the East End of Glasgow by major underworld figures, and four contract killings apparently associated with that takeover.
R v Sullivan and others: At the time Britain’s biggest cash in transit robbery.
MISCELLANEOUS
R v De Marku and others: International sex trafficking.
R v Koupparis: Attempt to blackmail the Cypriot government for £15 million.
R v Callaghan: Blackmail of the Roman Catholic Church.
R v Pommell and others: Blackmail, kidnapping and torture of major drugs dealer.
R v Healey and another: Prison officer taken hostage. Case involved a sustained attack on conditions in Whitemoor prison at the time.
