BiographyKerry is a dedicated criminal barrister who both defends and prosecutes. She is regularly instructed as sole or led junior counsel in cases of serious violence, fraud, drug trafficking and sexual offences.
Kerry has particular expertise defending complex road traffic cases.
Before joining Chambers as a pupil Kerry spent 12 months at the Serious Fraud Office. She was involved in prosecuting a complex multi-handed advance fee fraud (R v G & B [2004] 2 Cr App R 37).
At the beginning of 2009 Kerry was seconded to HM Revenue & Customs to undertake an internal data protection review.
Practice ProfileKerry has defended cases in all areas of criminal law, both advising and appearing in cases of violence, arson, firearms, serious drugs offences, dishonesty and sexual offences. She has specific experience defending serious fraud, money laundering and confiscation proceedings.
In addition to a busy defence practice, Kerry has been appointed to the Attorney-General’s C List of Prosecuting Counsel and as such prosecutes on behalf of a number of Government Departments including HM Revenue and Customs and the Department for Work and Pensions. She is also instructed to prosecute on behalf the CPS, the Civil Aviation Authority, Ofcom and Westminster City Council.
Kerry is currently instructed by the Serious Fraud Office in a large-scale conspiracy to defraud a number of local councils and social services departments.

R v Tottle & others (2007-8) – Allegation of conspiracy to launder the proceeds of drug dealing (5 month VHCC trial)
R v Hussain (2007) – Stranger rape
R v Satkunanathan & others (2007) – Multiple conspiracies involving large-scale credit card cloning fraud and company fraud by a Sri-Lankan Tamil gang

R v Chandrakumar & others (2009) – Allegation of conspiracy to defraud the central clearing banks of over £4 million by credit card cloning
R v Reilly (2009) – Allegation of aggravated burglary by arson, mentally ill defendant
R v Boswell (2008) – Alleged section 18, defendant had numerous previous convictions for violence, including a conviction for “one-punch” manslaughter
R v Y & others (2008) – Allegation of joint enterprise sexual assault of 12 year old victim by 14 year old defendant who also faced a charge of perverting the course of justice
R v Alphonso (2006) – violent personal robbery and sexual assault in the home by a neighbour’s boyfriend
